Sometimes it is the little things that can make a big difference in life, or even in productivity. Most people want to be more productive. One of the most fun parts of my job is showing people ways that technology can help them be more productive. Sometimes it involves adopting new technology which can mean big change or a steep learning curve. Other times it can be as simple as the right-click of a mouse.
If you are a Microsoft Outlook user and you find yourself constantly clicking from the email view to the calendar view, you might like this tip. When you right-click the calendar icon on the navigation bar at the bottom, you have some options. The first option is “Open in New Window”. When your Outlook calendar is in a new window you are able to view your email and your full calendar at the same time. Other options here can be useful as well, such as “Dock the Peek”, which will fix an abbreviated view of your calendar and appointments next to your email view. The “Show the Peek” choice is like that but temporary.
